CELEBRATING 10 YEARS OF INDIGENOUS ACHIEVEMENT WITH A BRAND NEW PARTNERSHIP
On 6 June 2007, Cathy Freeman founded the Cathy Freeman Foundation by partnering with the community of Palm Island in Northern Queensland. With a purpose of inspiring Indigenous children through the power of education, Cathy distributed bikes to local children who were showing commitment to their education. Exactly 10 years later the Cathy Freeman Foundation is proud to announce that we are an official charity partner of our first ever bike riding event, the RACV Great Victorian Bike Ride. Joining the growing list of fun run events around Australia, like-minded Australians can now pedal in support of Indigenous education!
The RACV Great Vic Bike Ride kicks off from Saturday 25 November with three, five and nine day riding options. 3,500 riders will travel through the amazing Gippsland region, from the beautiful Wilsons Prom and pedal through areas that have breathtaking views of picturesque country side.
Highlights include: 90 Mile Beach, Lake Glenmaggie and the foothills of the Great Dividing Range. But the fun doesn’t stop when riding does, with live music, craft beer, food trucks and an outdoor cinema at each campsite the good times flow well into the night.
